Iron Containing Products

• Should only be taken for very specific reasons and only under the advice and supervision of a doctor. Consult your child's doctor for guidance for your child's iron supplementation.
• When iron drops are given to babies, some darkening of teeth and gum tissue directly surrounding the teeth may occur. This is not serious and may be reduced by rubbing the teeth with baking soda or by through brushing. Mixing Ferrous Sulfate Drops with water or fruit juice may help decrease the staining effect. Discoloring will fade with discontinued use.
• While your child is taking iron, stools may appear darker in color. This is to be expected and should be no cause of concern
• Ferrous Sulfate Drops vary in color from colorless to bluish-green to amber. Any color within this range is normal and does not affect product potency
